Who are we looking for?
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people with a disability. Your excellent interpersonal skills will equip you to support our valued customers to achieve their goals, build independence, and develop life skills within our short-term accommodation service.
This is the perfect opportunity for a driven Support Worker who wants to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people.
What do you need to bring?
- Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent
- Experience working in disability services, with the capacity to work creatively with children with a disability and their families
- An understanding of and appreciation for person centred support
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- A strong focus on accountability and reports concerns/incidents or breaches in practice
- A current First Aid Certificate
What can you expect to be doing?
- Assisting young people with a disability in all aspects of life, including personal care, medication support, domestic and daily living support and community participation
- Support young people to achieve their goals through fostering independence, choice and control
- Encourage children and young people to become more independent by making choices in their own lives
- Actively assess the needs of your clients, creating a positive and supportive environment that empowers children to reach their own potential
- Work closely with team members and be a part of our excellent team culture
